My stories

About

Hi, I'm Kimberly. I've spent my entire life in the software field, starting from my university days in Taiwan, where I majored in Information Management and focused on programming with Java and SQL, and dabbled a bit in R. After graduating, I became obsessed with Python and taught myself everything from basic programming logic to entry-level machine learning. With the support of my family, I was fortunate to move to Canada and embrace a new lifestyle. During this transition, I brought my QA experience with me and later graduated with a diploma in Software Development from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT).

Actually, I’m always exploring what I truly want and enjoy doing in my academic journey. I found myself drawn to writing SQL queries, which led me to pursue data-related roles. I also have some experience with R and plan to continue learning it. Over time, I discovered how fascinating the world of data is. It feels like a form of art — we take raw data and use them as our materials and colors to create and innovate meaningful, understandable creations. Additionally, we need to recognize the importance of data — something beautifully captured in my favorite quote by Dr. Deming, which I’ve shared on the homepage.

Apart from working with data, I’m also involved in other AI subfields, such as image segmentation. I enjoy exploring Python’s powerful machine learning libraries — that’s why I say I became obsessed with it. In the meantime, Hugging Face has been a great playground for me to learn and experiment with the latest AI techniques.

In my free time, I truly enjoy philosophy, music, art, especially writing calligraphy. I love Jimi Hendrix🎸 His music has accompanied me through many hours of work. I deeply resonate with and appreciate the hippie spirit✌

These are my stories — ever evolving, continually enriching the life I’m creating🖼️🎨🖌️
